These two pages -- especially the second-- gave me a *serious* flashback to Don McGregor's Black Panther. (This guy's going to get horribly wounded all the time, right?) Okay, you can still see the art for the captions, but otherwise it just feels spot on. Even a bit of Billy Graham in the art.
(That's a compliment, BTW. I hadn't realized that I miss hyperbolic captions so much!)
Hey, thanks everyone. Having people read along and comment is what makes ACT-I-VATE tick. Without it, I would probably give up!
Nice to see you all here, especially Mr. Lovelace and Jane. Thanks for stopping by!
Jim H.- I've never read any Black Panther comics, but I liked MacGregor's "Nathaniel Dusk".
Clearly, I love not only Stan's classic hyperbole, but also the sense of density. Stories seemed to progress in leaps and bounds. Stan and Jack did in 5 pages what seems to take 5 issues nowadays.
gorgeous. I remember seeing this pre-text and wondered how it'd look on screen.... It looks so good....bloody hell, you're a hero (of mine at least, heh...).
