"Fear, My Dear" is not a love letter but more of a dime store novel length thriller to your inspirations: Kirby, Leone, Bambaataa, Dondi. Billy's protean identity in this "ACT" was well served, expertly paced and beautifully drawn. Despite all of the royally messed up things that he put himself through, I like the optimism this strip champions.
I'm taking stock in what I'm gonna be missing every Wednesday, bro son. My eyes will yearn for that digi-neon glaze, those hyperbolic death threats, those mind bending conundrums, those thinly veiled therapy sessions. I'm gonna miss one of the world's most brutal, romantic, cutthroat couples in comix. I'm talking about Billy & Jane, of course.
That was a good ending. Congratulations, Dean. I hope to see more Billy Dogma soon. I'd love to see what he does with his gun that shoots everything but bullets!
Billy used to flex that Berzerk Gun a lot in the mid-to-late '90s/early '00s -- before I revamped him for ACT-I-VATE. Perhaps I'll scan and post those comix.
great story!
your ability to keep readers SO entertained while delivering such biting, yet ultimately rose colored commentary on relationships is pretty marvelous. no matter how heavy, week after week the fun has never gotten lost.
it's been silly. it's been crushing. it's been beautiful.
i anxiously look forward to next:)
Who would have thought you would show this very real romantic side of you. I love the ending and how incredibly beautiful Jane is without rockets blowing her up, earthquakes jarring her and not falling off buildings. Thank you so much for a great run.
Truely truely epic and lovely. I adored it every step of the way. I'm so glad you came to my school otherwise i might never have found it. Billy and Jane, the true love couple of the 21st century. No doubt at all
Damn, I will miss the cliffhangers. But meanwhile I can use the time to figure out what color will dominate your next installment of the saga. There will be a next trip?!?
WHOOOOAAAAAA!!!! I think "Fear, My Dear" has been my favorite chapter so far. I really loved how this was drawn and it seemed like the story was portrayed more by images rather than words, and it really came across. It looked great and I think it was a great success on your part.Awesome. Congrats.
