This is a special bird, a Giant Petrel. The name is program - they are huge - and they eat little emperors for breakfast. Not nice, but so is nature.

I was going to ask if they were Skuas, but I think they're brown.

Yeah, Skuas are brown. Giant Petrels are even bigger, and they are grey. Somewhat darker grey than the Emperor chicks. Since this is only a b/w/r comic they all have to be white. The bill makes the difference.
