It's the light but intelligent and telling detail that really jumps out at me on 2nd reading. That and the ending which manages to display the future with such an elegant but powerful visual metaphor and leaves an odd emotional note behind it now that I've read the conclusion of the larger story.



There's almost nobody doing what you do as well as you do it and there's nobody better.
