btw I was among those who were scratchin' their heads, but in a good way. I always dig it when you take a funny, relateable setup (Jewelry Twitch!) and then go to a mysterious place with it.
I like how the new version expands on the core idea, but you still manage to end it on something a little oblique. Great work!
That's it. I am clearly getting stupider and stupider. I was with ya up until the Jane Eyre allusion. And I was a lit major. I feel so dumb. But, I guess... in a good way, like Kevin.
WOW. I feel like you are so much more evolved than I am... Okay, so here's what I got this time. Your ancient self is your creative soul that goes, dare I say, even beyond your motherhood creative self, because it pre-dated it. It was there in the girl I knew who made me laugh so hard I peed, and delighted me with her amazing rapidograph drawings, and she's back again WITH A VENGEANCE!!!! The goddess gives you inspiration and it is green and growing and mysterious. The goddess and the green man are not so very different in some ways. And PS Jane Eyre was a survivor too, and a heck of an artist. Thank you for going back and telling us more. Awesome!
E, you never stop sitting at the desk next to me telling me I'm going to grow up to be an artist. And you're also the best English teacher who ever lived. The combination makes you one of my most awesome readers.
Kat, you patient thing. I'm not sure these extra panels helped or not. I'd say I went into apeshit territory here, and I learned that when I'm going apeshit it ain't easy to take my readers with me.
I think all the different interpretations are right--maybe mine is only one of many that can work.
By the way, my daughter thinks your new little character with the hat is "adorable!". She wanted me to tell you. She saw it on the card you gave me at King Con.
Best panel is dancing with garden man, all green and priestess-like. This is your Thank-the-Goddess strip. And the thing about the Goddess is that she really likes consignment shopping quite as much as dancing naked in the garden.
But this was supposed to be my Thank-the-God strip! Or maybe it's that AND Thank-the Goddess. And I totally agree with you: the Goddess would SO go dumpster diving with us (you, me, Charlotte).
aw thanks. Full Of It has much less loin action; it's about how people screw each other without sex. But I'm really right there in that garden, feeling that life-force. Beautiful.
