Was the dude with the glasses in the 4th frame covering up his Full-on Robot Chubbie (from checking out your 14 year old daughter)?
And Kip - on the CNN website. I laughed milk up my nose when I saw that. Must have been the Chick Nude Network.
But to make a serious comment for a change. When I was at Char's post grad party, I felt a bit of a loss that we never had kids and would never feel that sense of acomplishment and pride. Then when we drove hime and saw a bunch of soiled Pampers falling out of a garbage can, I was once again glad that I never had kids!
You're just so damn sentimental, Dan. And listen, my kids are your kids. Well, I don't mean that literally, of course. What I mean is, you can always rent them.
And yeah, I debated having Kip click back and forth between CNN and porn...
Nice one! Like Dino, I too live the whole graduation scenario vicariously. It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it! (Graduate, I mean.) Perhaps maturity comes easier to those who've never drawn comics. I'll never know, I guess. ;-)
The profile shot of Char was disconcerting, though. Does it give you the willies to have to draw your daughter with -- uh, with -- that is -- you know?
With what--uh, a soda? Listen, that chick has a rack that won't quit and I don't mind depicting the truth. We're all grownups here (except a few of you...)
Yea, I know, it's all bittersweet. Mine are now 22 and 19. I still got teary-eyed when I passed by the middle-school graduation ceremony last week and realized it's been 6 years since I did that with my youngest... How can that be?
I've been reinventing myself for the past 2 years, and it ain't easy, Babe...ain't easy.
I think yu hit the nail on the head with this post.
My 6 year old just left for 2 months in Europe. I waved her off at the Airport and she waved back, politely , but her head was already thousands of miles away. I suppose I'd better get used to that feeling.
oh, I felt that way too, from the moment the kids started doing anything for themselves. It's a million separations, just some of them catch the attention more than others.
So sweet and heartfelt. How cool that your kids are more serious-minded than even you give them credit for (gives me hope). I love the bit where she's taking the beer out of your hand. Do you ever feel like the mother on "Absolutely Fabulous"?
and another I missed, as I was on the beach, else galivanting around in ambulances, bleeding to death! LOVE it...SO spot on as always, my friend (I think 8th grade "graduation" is a crock o' poo, though...but I still wanna see the pics, please!!)!!
Yeah, if the school weren't actually ending in 8th grade, 8th grade graduation would be pretty stupid. And omewhere I do have pix. C was Ford Modelling Agency material, that's for sure.

Nearly brought a tear to my eye and I've never graduated a damned thing in my life.
