But to make a serious comment for a change. When I was at Char's post grad party, I felt a bit of a loss that we never had kids and would never feel that sense of acomplishment and pride. Then when we drove hime and saw a bunch of soiled Pampers falling out of a garbage can, I was once again glad that I never had kids!

Very touching story, and so glad I was there to witness so much of it. Just can't figure out, though, why kids age 3 times as fast as us.

Nice one! Like Dino, I too live the whole graduation scenario vicariously. It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it! (Graduate, I mean.) Perhaps maturity comes easier to those who've never drawn comics. I'll never know, I guess. ;-)

My 6 year old just left for 2 months in Europe. I waved her off at the Airport and she waved back, politely , but her head was already thousands of miles away. I suppose I'd better get used to that feeling.

Awesome! I totally get it too..my stepdaughter graduated high school 3 years ago and her mom still goes through the graduation sighs!!!

so touching. freaks me out to think that i kinda feel like that already.

So sweet and heartfelt. How cool that your kids are more serious-minded than even you give them credit for (gives me hope). I love the bit where she's taking the beer out of your hand. Do you ever feel like the mother on "Absolutely Fabulous"?
