Aw, thanks. I don't think of these things, I merely get what the French call <<un feeling>> and let the cosmic radio station of Inspiration transmit unimpeded through the antenna of my senses. Either that or it's the painkillers.
This is even more amazing than I thought it could be. I laughed every page. I love the shoe tying view. Also the tree, the bird formation.. the curve of the frisbee, the casual conversation and the way you sized the text for different emphasis and mood...I was wondering what the "ketch" was for.. brilliant. The whole thing is totally intuitive and hysterical and I felt like I was totally there in the middle of the game. Inventive and fun. Gave my brain a little work to do -and my imagination too. I think I like this better than art. In fact, I may go on an art strike in honor of this amazing little piece of yours. Please do a series of these, please?
blush, roll over, run in circles, chase tail, yelp, pant >>> dog-speak translator >>> Thank you so much, pardner. Me make good use of your nice wordses, yes?
Tim this is Fascinating, the way it all unfold in the mind. Interesting to see how you use it...tension... suspense. Reminds me of typography design assignments in arts school...
I was pleased to see so much achieved here with implied atmosphere especially, and the promise of rain implied far before you mentioned it. It strikes me that a reader could artfully be lead up and down many curious places with a technique like this. Thanks for school'n us :)
Gadzooks, I'd be honored! And I'd love to know what you're learning in that class--I'm forging my own multimedia writing BA/MA track right now and am looking for ideas to supplement my curriculum. Thank you--and I'm available for talks and readings too, of course. Slated to be at Columbia and NYU this fall, will kick it live anywhere, any time (if my wife says it's okay, of course...)

Today was the first day in my class, but we took a look at some works by Young-Hae Chang Heavy Industries, Peter Howard,Robert Kendall and Amy Hoy and Thomas Fuchs. I'm currently at UCSB, so seeing you speak/read may be out of the question, but who knows?
Ha! You're the first person besides myself to use "concrete" to describe it--been calling it "concrete comics" and getting blank stares. Will be rolling out more of these with some new twists. Thanks, Wred!
You pulled it off. Makes perfect sense, actually. No reason the word "cloud" isn't as valid a glyph for cloud as a connected series of convex lines is. Somewhere Scott McCloud is happy.
