On a serious note, our thoughts this Memorial Day are with those who didn't come back and with those who didn't make it back in one piece. We hope this small series honors their commitment.
Nick Sumida's art is very human, full of life and always fun to look at. Adapting this raw point of view is an art in itself, but it is handled tastefully and almost poetically. Everyone involved in the creation of this story should be proud.
This shows the power of comics. I'm glad it exists.
I love your work Nick! Your drawings are rough and seductive. Really captivating storytelling. It's hard to comment positively on all this grisly work, but it's harder to say something meaningful about the war in Iraq. I think all the artists have done a great job of being honest and respectful. Nick I can't wait to see your comics at MoCCA!
